Welcome from the mayor !
Located on the east coast of Ré Island, overlooking the two sea approaches, called " pertuis Breton " and "pertuis d'Antioche", home to a small fishing port, a bay and wonderful beaches, Rivedoux-Plage offers a unique perspective on the island as soon as you arrive.
On the two great sandy beaches, one on each side of the village, easily accessible and safe, you will enjoy swimming and water sports in summer and family walks in the winter.
Rivedoux is also the starting point of 100 km of cycle paths and numerous hiking trails which will let you discover the natural beauty of the Ile de Re.
The local cuisine will amaze you - oysters from the bay, clams, mussels and scallops, all accompanied by excellent local white, rosé or red wines.
Check out the vibrant community life - cultural events and regular and varied artistic events which colour the life of Rivedoux all year round.
This website is yours, whether you are a permanent resident or just visiting. I hope all of you will get something from it, whether useful or just for fun, as you look around.
